School Nursing and Atheletic Training
The health of the community is an important part of Memorial Hospital and Manor’s mission. Memorial Hospital and Manor sponsors a School Nursing Program and Athletic Training program in the Decatur County School System. Memorial Hospital and Manor's Comprehensive School Health Care program provides nine Registered Nurses assisting approximately 6000 Decatur County students at the six elementary schools, the two middle schools, and the high school. These nurses operate school clinics to provide medical assistance, administer medications, conduct vision and dental screenings, and speak to students regarding health issues.
Memorial Hospital and Manor’s Certified Athletic Trainer works cooperatively with Decatur County School coaches and area physicians in providing a safe environment for the young athletes. For several years, the physicians and staff of Memorial Hospital and Manor have offered free athletic physical exams to students participating in school sports.
